Biotest Laboratories is a supplement company based in Colorado. Aside from thermogenics, the company produces protein shakes, protein bars, energy drinks and supplements.
Biotest states that Spike provides an energy boost and mental alertness without the side effects, but several consumers reported feeling jittery. This energy supplement is marketed to provide the same surge of energy as ephedrine products. It is designed to enhance workout performance and increase mental alertness.
Take one or two tablets in the morning, before an intense workout or prior to a situation requiring concentration. Do not take more than two tablets within 24 hours. Do not combine Spike with other stimulants or weight-loss products. This product contains stimulants and should not be taken within six hours of bedtime. Spike is designed for adult use only. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, individuals with medical conditions and those taking medications should not use this product.
T-MAX (Biotest proprietary thiamine di2-methylpropionate disulfide), caffeine, croscarmellose, lecithin, dextrose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, sorbitol, microcrystalline cellulose, FD&C yellow #6, stearic acid, maltodextrin, titanium dioxide, FD&C yellow #5, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, calcium carbonate.

Consumers who reviewed this energy supplement found that it took a good hour to kick in, but they reported experiencing definite results. One user noted that he felt more mentally focused and had more energy. After a few hours, however, some users found that they experienced side effects including headaches, nausea and chills. Some reviewers reported that Spike gave them a "clean" buzz, like they received after drinking a couple of cups of coffee. A few people noted that it was a little pricey for what it did.
