Straight Up Facts

Matrix 5.0 is a high quality protein blend with an ideal combination of ingredients. Avoiding cheaper and inferior protein sources like denatured sodium and calcium caseinate, Matrix offers an amino acid profile that can help increase lean body mass, antioxidant status and immune system function, as well as decreasing fat stores and protecting your kidneys. According to Syntrax, Matrix is a "superior" protein for people with medical conditions. The company promises less sugar and fat, better taste and more servings (thanks to savings in packaging costs that offset the expense of the high quality protein). It's the mix of proteins in Matrix that makes it a good "anytime" supplement. The whey, micellar casein and egg albumin are all quality sources of protein. The reason Syntrax emphasizes the "ultra-filtered" and "undenatured" quality of its formula is that this means the proteins weren't wiped of their potential health benefits during processing.

Straight Up Review

For the most part, reviewers responded favorably to Syntrax's protein powder. Many consider it a great value for the price, with a good blend of proteins and great taste. They also found it easy to mix, and a few reviews mentioned the convenience of the resealable bag (as opposed to the usual jug). The odd reviewer was less than satisfied with the ingredients, complaining about the inclusion of wheat gluten to provide glutamine peptides and whey protein concentrate rather than isolate and aspartame. A few disagreed on the subject of taste as well, arguing that Matrix's flavor is average at best.
